President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has departed for a working visit to Moscow to take part in commemorative events marking the 81st anniversary of Victory in World War II.
Mirziyoyev will participate in ceremonial events dedicated to Victory Day during his visit to the Russian capital, The Caspian Post reports via president.uz.
Moscow is hosting this year’s Victory Day commemorations under heightened security measures amid concerns over drone attacks and regional tensions. Russian authorities have also announced a reduced-format parade without demonstrating military hardware.
Victory Day remains an important historical event across many former Soviet republics, including Central Asian nations, where ceremonies honoring World War II veterans and remembrance events continue to be widely observed.
