Uzbekistan, Serbia Expand Cooperation in Trade, IT, Tourism and Industry

Uzbekistan and Serbia are moving to deepen cooperation across a wide range of strategic sectors after high-level talks between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić.

During the meeting, the Serbian minister conveyed greetings from Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić as both sides reviewed progress on agreements reached during top-level negotiations in October 2025, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in key industries including mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, information technology, agriculture, and tourism. Officials also highlighted growing engagement between the two countries at government, parliamentary, and business levels, alongside strengthening humanitarian ties.

A major step forward came with the decision to hold the first meeting of the Uzbekistan-Serbia Intergovernmental Commission in Belgrade later this year, aimed at boosting trade and economic cooperation.

The talks additionally covered collaboration in labor migration, culture, and education, while both sides exchanged views on regional and global developments and discussed preparations for upcoming high-level meetings.
