Uzbekistan Reports 248 Fatalities in Work-Related Incidents in 2025

In 2025, a total of 248 people lost their lives in work-related accidents in Uzbekistan, according to the Ministry of Employment.

Data from the State Labor Inspectorate indicate that 849 workplace accidents were investigated and officially recorded nationwide over the past year, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

Of these incidents:

  • 50 were group accidents;

  • 583 resulted in severe consequences;

  • 216 ended in fatalities.

Overall, 961 people were injured as a result of workplace accidents, including 248 deaths, 680 serious injuries, and 33 minor injuries. Following these incidents, criminal cases were initiated against 432 officials, while 241 officials received administrative fines.

The construction sector recorded the highest number of workplace accidents with 234 cases, followed by light industry with 47 cases and the transport sector with 37 cases.

By region, Tashkent city reported the largest number of accidents at 153, followed by Kashkadarya region with 93, Bukhara region with 92, and Andijan region with 75.
