Uzbekistan Showcases Tourism Potential at International Expo in Karachi

Uzbekistan has taken center stage at the prestigious Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) in Karachi, highlighting the country’s rich tourism potential to an international audience.

The delegation was led by Uzbekistan’s Tourism Brand Ambassador, Hamid Mahmood Chaudhry, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The exhibition marked a key step in strengthening tourism cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, giving visitors a first-hand look at the country’s cultural and historical heritage as well as its diverse tourism offerings.

PTM Karachi brought together top players from the global tourism industry, including tour operators, travel agencies, hotel chains, and international exhibitors. Uzbekistan’s national pavilion attracted strong interest, confirming the country’s growing appeal as a travel destination for Pakistani citizens and international visitors.

During the business program, Hamid Mahmood Chaudhry held meetings with senior Pakistani officials, including Sardar Ilyas and Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana. Discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, promoting joint initiatives, and strengthening intercultural ties.

The talks emphasized boosting tourism flows and building sustainable partnerships in the sector. Uzbekistan’s pavilion showcased a wide range of tourism opportunities, including ziyarat (pilgrimage) tourism, cultural and educational travel, business tourism, and more. Presentations and direct interactions with industry professionals increased awareness of Uzbekistan’s potential along the historic Silk Road.

The event also opened new avenues for networking with international tour operators and exploring partnerships to expand Uzbekistan’s presence in the global tourism market.
