Uzbekistan to Launch Academy for Agricultural Development

Uzbekistan is set to establish a new scientific institution aimed at coordinating research and development in the agricultural sector-the Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

The academy will be created within the National Knowledge and Innovation Center under the Ministry of Agriculture, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The new academy will serve as a central hub for both fundamental and applied research, shaping long-term and short-term programs for the country’s agrarian sector. It will provide scientific support for the development of Uzbekistan’s agro-industrial complex.

Drafts of regulatory and legal acts developed under agricultural and land reforms will now undergo mandatory scientific review by the academy.

The institution will also introduce a system of scientific titles, including Young Academician, Academy Professor, Corresponding Member, Full Member, and Foreign Member of the Academy.

Officials expect that the academy will strengthen the scientific foundation of the agricultural sector and accelerate the adoption of modern technologies in Uzbekistan’s agro-industrial complex.
