Uzbekneftegaz, SOCAR Advance Hydrocarbon Project in Ustyurt

Uzbekistan's Uzbekneftegaz company and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) have reviewed the results of their joint hydrocarbon exploration and production project at the Ustyurt investment blocks, marking a key step toward industrial production.

During a working meeting between Uzbekneftegaz Chairman Abdugani Sanginov and SOCAR Vice President Arzu Javadova, the parties assessed progress under the production sharing agreement and highlighted that the project is being implemented in line with high-level agreements, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

For the first time in Ustyurt, the project has seen large-scale use of advanced seismic surveying technologies. Several technical solutions have been recognized as unique for the region, accelerating exploration, improving geophysical data accuracy, and opening new technological opportunities for the sector.

Both companies agreed to coordinate upcoming phases and ensure that the project’s planned objectives are successfully achieved, strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the energy sector.
