The first shipment of Armenian apricots is being loaded for export to Europe, marking a major milestone for the country's agricultural sector and opening the door to one of the world's largest consumer markets.

CEO of HayWay Group Artur Lewandowski said that the initial shipment will be sent to Poland before being distributed to consumers across multiple EU member states, The Caspian Post reports via Express.

Lewandowski said the export represents far more than the sale of fruit. For the first time, Armenian products will appear in some of Europe's largest retail chains, giving local producers access to tens of thousands of stores across the continent.

He described the development as a unique opportunity for Armenia's agricultural sector to establish large-scale, sustainable exports while creating a new trade route that could become a key pillar of the country's economic growth.

"To many, it's just another shipment of apricots. To me, it's a symbol of new economic opportunities for Armenia," Lewandowski said.
