Russia Expands Restrictions on Armenian Fish Imports Over Certification Concerns

Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) has said that Russia tightened restrictions on fish product imports from Armenia, expanding measures aimed at addressing regulatory violations.

Rosselkhoznadzor said it had asked Armenian authorities to suspend certification for all fish products destined for the Russian market, with the exception of two companies that directly participated in official inspections - M.F. Export LLC and Invest Plus LLC, The Caspian Post reports via TASS.

A strengthened laboratory monitoring regime was introduced for the companies in question.

“Following an analysis of the inspection materials, a preliminary report was prepared. Until the identified violations are corrected and the necessary supporting documents are provided, a decision has been made to temporarily suspend the certification of products from these enterprises,” Rosselkhoznadzor said.

Rosselkhoznadzor emphasized that it is continuing to work with the Armenian side to ensure the safety of fish and fish products intended for export to the Russian market.
