Armenia’s Security Council Secretary Alen Simonyan has not ruled out the possibility of visiting Azerbaijan.

Simonyan reportedly said that such a visit remains possible, although he has not yet provided any specific dates, according to aysor.am.

Simonyan was appointed Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council on August 13, 2026.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed the decree appointing Simonyan to the position, replacing Armen Grigoryan, who had served as Security Council Secretary for nearly eight years.

Simonyan previously served as President of Armenia’s National Assembly from August 2021. Following the 2026 parliamentary elections, however, he decided not to seek another term as speaker and did not run for a seat in the new parliament.
