Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan has filed a lawsuit against former President Robert Kocharyan.
Simonyan is demanding a public apology from Kocharyan as well as compensation of 1 million drams, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.
Simonyan said he was insulted by Kocharyan’s remark addressed to him, stating that “such an unreliable person could not have properly served in the army.” Kocharyan made the comment at a press conference in response to Simonyan’s recent statement alleging disorder in the Armenian army during Kocharyan’s time in power.
