EU, Armenia Boost Cooperation on Security, Cyber Defense, Media Independence

The EU has offered Armenia cooperation in combating disinformation and cyber threats.

Such a statement was made following a meeting among European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President António Costa, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Brussels proposed that Yerevan utilize EU tools to counter security threats, including information manipulation, foreign interference, and cyberattacks.

As part of its support for Armenia’s information ecosystem, the EU also announced a new aid package worth 1.5 million euros to strengthen independent media outlets.

EU leadership expressed appreciation for Armenia’s cooperation and efforts to prevent the circumvention of Russian sanctions.
