No Meeting Expected Between Pashinyan and Aliyev at Global Gateway Forum in Belgium

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan does not have a scheduled meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to Belgium, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, The Caspian Post reports citing Armenian media.

Pashinyan is visiting Brussels for the Global Gateway Forum.

Kostanyan said Pashinyan is invited to deliver remarks at the event.

“Meetings with European partners and other bilateral meetings are also expected,” he added.

“If I’m correct, the Azerbaijani president is not participating in the event,” he said.

Building on the success of the inaugural Forum in 2023, which highlighted the European Union’s external investment initiatives, the second edition of the Global Gateway Forum, organized by the European Commission, will focus on advancing global connectivity in the face of geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges, organizers have said.
