Pakistan has appointed its first ambassador to Armenia, about a year after the two countries established diplomatic relations.

Pakistan’s Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan presented his credentials to Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan during a meeting in Yerevan.

The two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest.

Before the two countries established diplomatic relations, Pakistan was the only country in the world that did not recognize Armenia.
