A second confrontation broke out in Armenia’s parliament within less than an hour of the start of the session, this time between ruling-party and opposition lawmakers over a proposed investigative commission on the “crisis in the Church.”
The incident began when opposition lawmakers, following their usual protest practice, started banging on their desks in response to remarks by a ruling-party deputy directed at the Catholicos of All Armenians, according to Sputnik Armenia.
Verbal exchanges between lawmakers quickly escalated, further raising tensions in the chamber.
