An Azerbaijani delegation, headed by Minister of Health Teymur Musayev, is currently visiting Riga, Latvia.
The delegation began its visit by paying tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, laying a wreath at his monument on the premises of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Latvia, The Caspian Post reports citing AZERTAC.
During the visit, officials held multiple meetings to strengthen bilateral cooperation in healthcare. At a meeting with Latvian Minister of Health Hosams Abu Meri, the sides discussed prospects in healthcare management, digital health, medical personnel training, laboratory services, and pharmaceuticals. Azerbaijani Ambassador to Latvia Elnur Sultanov also attended.
Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musayev highlighted the country’s ongoing healthcare reforms under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and emphasized Azerbaijan’s commitment to international collaboration and best practices. Minister Hosams Abu Meri underscored the growing political dialogue between Latvia and Azerbaijan as a platform for advancing healthcare development.
During the visit, the Ministries of Health of Azerbaijan and Latvia signed a Cooperation Agreement covering technical and scientific collaboration, joint projects, and professional development. The agreement is expected to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries in healthcare and medical science.
The Azerbaijani delegation also held a working meeting with Armands Krauze, Latvian Minister of Agriculture and Co-Chair of the Latvian-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation.
