Azerbaijan is stepping up efforts to attract tourists from Jordan, hosting a business networking event in Amman on November 2 to promote its tourism offerings and strengthen ties with Jordanian travel companies.
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board organized the event, titled "Experience Azerbaijan B2B Networking Event," bringing together 66 tourism industry representatives from 48 companies, according to the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency.
The meeting aimed to promote Azerbaijan as a travel destination and expand business connections between tourism professionals from the two countries.
Participants received information about Azerbaijan's year-round tourism opportunities, with presentations highlighting popular destinations such as Baku, Gabala, Guba, Gusar and Sheki.
The programme also showcased opportunities for family holidays, luxury resorts, ecotourism, adventure travel, winter tourism, cultural heritage, gastronomy, wellness and halal tourism.
B2B meetings were held between representatives of three Azerbaijani companies, including Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), and Jordanian tourism businesses. Discussions focused on potential cooperation, establishing direct business contacts and identifying new commercial opportunities.
Separately, Azerbaijan Tourism Board Chairman Florian Sengstschmid met with Jordan Tourism Board Director General Ramzi Al-Maaytah during the official visit.
The discussions covered existing air connections, ways to simplify visa procedures and prospects for launching additional flights between the two countries.
Currently, air connectivity between Azerbaijan and Jordan is largely concentrated in the summer season, with weekly charter flights operated by AZAL and Fly Jordan.
