Azerbaijan has offered the public its first detailed look at the JF-17 Thunder Block III fighter jets that recently entered service with the country's Air Force.

The aircraft were showcased during training flights conducted by Azerbaijan's Air Force, with the Ministry of Defense releasing official photos and videos highlighting the new fighters in action, The Caspian Post reports via the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

The footage reveals that the aircraft feature a two-tone gray camouflage scheme, complemented by standard full-color national insignia and the Azerbaijani flag displayed on the vertical tail.

Two aircraft carrying the tactical numbers 24-501 and 24-502 were seen in the video. The fighters also feature distinctive markings, including a lightning bolt graphic beneath the cockpit, the signature of national leader Heydar Aliyev on the left side of the fuselage, and a jaguar head emblem with the inscription "Jaguar" on the vertical stabilizer.

During the training mission, the aircraft flew without missiles but carried three external fuel tanks mounted under the fuselage and wings. The fighter jets are also equipped with air-to-air refueling capability using a fixed refueling probe, extending their operational range.

The JF-17 Thunder Block III is currently the most advanced combat aircraft in the Azerbaijani Air Force and represents a significant step in the country's efforts to modernize its air defense capabilities.
