Azerbaijan, Venezuela Focus on Expanding Consular Cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs held its first round of consular consultations with the Ministry of the People's Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela on Thursday via videoconference.

The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Venezuelan side was headed by Maria Rafaela Suarez Hernandez, Director General of the Consular Relations Office of the Ministry of the People's Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, The Caspian Post reports, citing Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Also participating in the meeting were Ruslan Rzayev, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Venezuela, and Christopher Martinez, Venezuela’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

The discussions focused on the current state and future prospects of consular cooperation between the two countries, as well as opportunities to expand the bilateral legal framework in this domain.

Additionally, the sides stressed the importance of advanced experience-sharing in providing digital consular services.

The meeting also addressed bilateral collaboration in migration, labor and social protection.
