Baku Highlights Middle Corridor's Strategic Role, Urges Further Infrastructure Integration

As part of his working visit to Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov participated in the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan in Awaza.

In his speech, Minister Bayramov thanked Turkmenistan for the excellent organization of the meeting, The Caspian Post reports, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

Minister Bayramov emphasized that amidst growing global instability and disrupted supply chains, deepening regional integration, regular political dialogue, and strengthening economic resilience within the C6 format are vital for shared security and sustainable development.

The minister described Azerbaijan's full membership in the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia format as a reflection of a qualitatively new level of interaction rooted in historical ties and shared strategic interests.

He underscored the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor for East-West connectivity, calling for further infrastructure integration, streamlined procedures, and the digitalization of transit to maximize cargo flows.

FM Bayramov highlighted the new regional architecture of interconnectivity driven by digital transit and the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan in green energy production and transmission.

The FM noted the significant potential for expanding mutual trade and investments, supported by unprecedented levels of high-level political trust and regular dialogue. He also raised urgent ecological concerns regarding the declining levels of the Caspian Sea and the Aral Sea, calling for a systemic scientific approach, information exchange, and robust regional cooperation to tackle shared climate challenges.

Minister Bayramov reaffirmed Azerbaijan's readiness to strengthen the C6 format further and actively participate in implementing the long-term agreements reached during the upcoming Summit.
