On August 8, Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov held a meeting with Edil Baisalov, Kyrgyzstan's Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, according to Azerbaijan’s Cabinet of Ministers.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized that the relationship based on mutual trust and close contacts between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan is the most important factor in interstate relations, reaching the level of strategic partnership and developing consistently, The Caspian Post reports.
They also discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in trade-economic, investment, transport, and humanitarian fields between the two countries.
Moreover, the sides exchanged views on preparations for the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, co-chaired by Samir Sharifov, which is expected to take place in Baku at the end of 2025.
