Chief of General Staff of Azerbaijani Army Observes Belgrade Military Parade

A senior Azerbaijani military delegation led by Colonel General Karim Valiyev, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, has arrived in Serbia for an official visit at the invitation of General Milan Mojsilović, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.

The visit began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Tašmajdan Park, Belgrade. The delegation honored the memory of the late leader as a mark of respect and a symbol of enduring bilateral ties, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

During the visit, Colonel General Valiyev held high-level talks with his Serbian counterpart. The discussions centered on strengthening defense ties and exploring new avenues for military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia.

The Azerbaijani delegation also attended a military parade in Belgrade as part of the official itinerary.

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Serbia, Kamil Khasiyev, took part in the events alongside the visiting officials, underscoring the diplomatic importance of the visit.

The trip highlights growing defense relations between the two countries and comes amid broader efforts to enhance regional cooperation and security dialogue.
