His Majesty King Mswati III’s visit to Baku in May 2026 is already producing results, with three Eswatini students set to pursue studies in Azerbaijan under scholarships secured during the royal visit.

Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini officially bid farewell to the three students - Brilliance Dlamini, Junior Dalingcebo Dlamini and Temabhele Shabangu - ahead of their departure for Azerbaijan, according to Eswatini Positive News.

Brilliance Dlamini and Junior Dalingcebo Dlamini will pursue bachelor’s degrees in petroleum engineering, while Shabangu will study for a master’s degree in chemical engineering, specializing in oil and gas technologies.

The scholarships were provided by the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) following King Mswati III’s visit to Baku, where he toured strategic facilities, including sites operated by Azerbaijan’s energy company.

During his visit, the Eswatini king met with SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and visited the Baku Higher Oil School.
