Laos has proposed establishing a joint business council with Azerbaijan to strengthen commercial ties and coordinate cooperation between entrepreneurs from the two countries.
The proposal was announced by Thanongsinh Kanlaya, executive vice president of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI), at the Azerbaijan-Laos Investment Business Forum, Caliber.Az reports.
“We propose creating a business council jointly with Azerbaijan to strengthen business ties and coordinate cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries. The aim of this organization will be to hold regular meetings and monitor the business contacts,” Kanlanya said.
He noted that the proposed mechanism would strengthen cooperation between the private sectors of both countries and help develop long-term business partnerships.
Kanlanya also said Laos hopes to welcome an Azerbaijani business delegation to its capital, Vientiane, in 2027 to further expand trade and economic relations.
“We will be glad to welcome Azerbaijani entrepreneurs to Vientiane. Developing direct contacts between business representatives will help establish new partnerships, conclude contracts and create new jobs,” he said.
The LNCCI vice president emphasized that reciprocal trade missions and business meetings would be important for advancing bilateral cooperation.
