Renowned Azerbaijani Artist To Bring Cultural Heritage to Life in New Exhibition

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum will open the personal exhibition “Carpet Magic Through the Echoes of Centuries” by renowned Azerbaijani artist Milena Nabiyeva on September 17.

Nabiyeva, a member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan and UNESCO, will present a collection that celebrates the nation’s rich cultural heritage through contemporary art, The Caspian Post informs per local media.

The exhibition will feature around 50 works created over different periods of the artist’s career. Azerbaijani carpet compositions and traditional ornaments are central to the collection, complemented by motifs inspired by national architecture, nature, and floral patterns. Nabiyeva’s unique technique involves first painting intricate ornamentation on canvas and then building the main narrative over it, creating a harmonious fusion of traditional and modern elements.

Among the works will be Quince from the Garden of Eden, Sunday Morning, Malibeyli, Falling in Love, Love Bouquet, and Self-Confidence Bouquet, all reflecting a dialogue between historical aesthetic codes and contemporary artistic vision.

The exhibition’s hosting at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum will highlight the artist’s use of national carpet designs and the museum’s ongoing support for artists who explore this theme. Nabiyeva’s works have previously been exhibited in Baku, Paris, Ankara, and Saint Petersburg.

“Carpet Magic Through the Echoes of Centuries” will run until September 21, offering visitors an opportunity to experience Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage through vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and innovative artistic interpretations.
