Saudi Ambassador to Azerbaijan Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili has said that Azerbaijan continues demonstrating strong interest in the Arabic language.
The ambassador made the remarks during the opening ceremony of “Arabic Language Month” in Baku, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
While speaking at the event, the ambassador noted that Azerbaijani scholars, writers, and poets historically produced significant works in Arabic during the Middle Ages, contributing greatly to the development of Islamic culture.
“It is gratifying that even today, Arabic remains highly valued in Azerbaijan. Currently, it is taught in 10 general education schools and 6 leading universities across the country,” Al-Jutaili stated.
He added that Arabic will continue acting as a bridge between cultures and peoples, fostering knowledge and science, strengthening cultural identity, promoting diversity, encouraging dialogue, and supporting global peace.
