The search is continuing for the Azerbaijani captain of a civilian cargo vessel that was struck by a drone attack off the coast of Odesa, Ukraine, on July 14.

Some 10 Azerbaijani crew members who were aboard the vessel have been safely evacuated. After crossing into Moldova, they were repatriated to Azerbaijan via Türkiye, The Caspian Post reports via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The attack took place at around 3:15 p.m. local time when the Atlas Bey, a civilian merchant ship owned by Turkish shipping company Okean Maritime, came under a drone strike near the Odesa coastline.

The vessel was carrying 11 Azerbaijani nationals. All crew members except the Azerbaijani captain were rescued and brought ashore in Odesa. The efforts are being made to locate the missing captain.
