The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry called on citizens currently in the Middle East to closely monitor the security situation, comply with the instructions and recommendations of local authorities, stay away from crowded places, and strengthen personal safety measures.

This was stated by the head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ayhan Hajizade, The Caspian Post reports.

"The land border with Azerbaijan and Turkey is being used to evacuate Azerbaijani citizens wishing to leave Iran. Currently, 30 of our citizens have crossed the Azerbaijani border.

Overall, given that the airspace in the region is closed, no evacuation of citizens is planned at this time," the agency representative added.
