A serious road accident occurred in the village of Tangarud in Azerbaijan’s Astara district, killing two people.

The incident happened on the Alat-Astara highway. A Mercedes Sprinter minibus operating on the Astara-Lankaran route lost control, veered off the road, collided with an electric pole, and overturned, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Preliminary reports indicate that two people died, while four others were injured and hospitalized. The passengers were reportedly on their way to a wedding celebration.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident.
