Member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) have signed a memorandum of understanding in Azerbaijan's capital Baku to strengthen cooperation in urban and territorial planning as well as sustainable development.
The agreement was signed during the OTS High-Level Urban Dialogue held at the Azerbaijani pavilion during the “Urban Expo” exhibition as part of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), The Caspian Post reports via Report.
The event brought together senior representatives from governments, municipalities, academia, the private sector, and civil society to discuss rapid urbanization across the Turkic region and explore solutions to modern city challenges.
The new memorandum is expected to boost collaboration on sustainable urban development, smart city planning, and regional cooperation as OTS member states work to improve infrastructure and urban living standards.
The forum highlighted the growing role of the Organization of Turkic States in promoting joint initiatives beyond politics and trade, with urban development emerging as a key area of regional partnership.
