Wizz Air to Launch Direct Flights Between Bratislava and Baku From October 2026

European low-cost carrier Wizz Air will launch direct flights between Slovakia's capital Bratislava and Baku starting in October 2026, further expanding Azerbaijan's growing network of affordable international air connections.

Expanding international routes remains a key priority, giving passengers more travel options and greater access to low-cost flights, The Caspian Post reports via Report.

Today, around half of all airlines operating from Baku follow low-cost or hybrid business models. Nearly 20 budget and hybrid carriers currently offer nonstop flights from the Azerbaijani capital to more than 20 international destinations.

Thanks to airlines including Wizz Air, Pegasus Airlines, Air Arabia, flydubai, and flynas, travelers can already fly directly from Baku to cities such as Budapest, Rome, Istanbul, Tashkent, Dubai, Sharjah, Antalya, and Aktau. A wide range of fares and flexible schedules allow passengers to choose options that best suit their budgets and travel plans.

The Heydar Aliyev International Airport also highlighted that 2026 has seen continued expansion of its route network. FLYONE Asia has launched regular flights to Tashkent, while FLYONE has introduced direct services to Chișinău. Beginning in October, Wizz Air will add Bratislava to the list of destinations served from Baku.
