Azerbaijan Takes Part in 39th Jerash International Festival of Culture and Arts

The 39th Jerash International Festival of Culture and Arts is being held in Jordan, showcasing a variety of cultural performances and artistic expressions.

The festival is organized by the Jordanian Ministry of Culture under the patronage of King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, under the slogan "Here is Jordan... and its glory endures," The Caspian Post reports citing AZERTAC.

With the support of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture, the group led by tar player Ibrahim Babayev and the soloists of the State Dance Ensemble are representing Azerbaijan at the festival.

As part of the festival the "MughaMix" music project, prepared under the leadership of Ibrahim Babayev, was presented. The concert, which took place in the central square of the ancient city of Jerash, featured the performances of Ibrahim Babayev (tar), Anar Valizada (balaban) and Vafadar Ramiz (nagara), including "Fantasy" from Uzeyir Hajibeyli's musical comedy "O olmasin, bu olsun (If not that one, then this one)”, H. Hasanov's "I always remember", and Azerbaijani folk songs "Kharibulbul" and "Sari galin".

The concert also featured Babayev's "MughaMix", "Dance in the Sky" and "17.17". In addition, the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble presented the folk dance "Yaylıg", V. Mustafazadeh's "Dance" and the composition "Colors of Azerbaijan" staged with the participation of a trio of musicians. The concert program was met with great interest and applause from the audience.
