The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee has highlighted that trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Italy continued growing steadily in 2025, with total turnover reaching $5.34 billion in the first five months of the year - an increase of 21.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
Azerbaijan’s exports to Italy were the main driver of growth, rising by 21.2 per cent year-on-year to $5.13 billion, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.
Italy remained Azerbaijan’s leading export destination, accounting for 46.6 per cent of all Azerbaijani exports during the January-May period. This marks a significant jump from the 37.97 per cent share recorded in the same timeframe last year.
Imports from Italy also experienced growth, climbing 17.7 per cent to $212.59 million. Despite the increase in volume, Italy’s share in Azerbaijan’s total imports slightly declined, falling from 2.47 per cent in 2024 to 2.13 per cent in 2025.
