Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov held a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister for Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 4th meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), The Caspian Post reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Agriculture.
During the meeting, Majnun Mammadov provided detailed information about the work carried out in Azerbaijan under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership to develop the agricultural sector. The minister emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to increasing trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan and expanding cooperation in various agricultural fields, particularly livestock, fisheries, and others.
Bakyt Torobaev, in turn, expressed his country’s interest in learning from Azerbaijan’s successful experience in digitalizing the agricultural sector, implementing agrarian insurance, and processing agricultural products. He also emphasized their interest in cooperation in the field of agricultural education, including participation in student and faculty exchange programs.
The meeting also included extensive discussions on ensuring sustainable development in agriculture, the importance of exchanging experience in these areas, and the great potential for expanding mutual ties in the agricultural sector.
The sides discussed the current state and future prospects of agricultural cooperation with member states of the Organization, underlining the importance of expanding such cooperation.
The meeting also addressed other issues of mutual concern.
