Kyrgyz Minister of Transport and Communications Absattar Syrgabaev is attending the 12th meeting of transport ministers from Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, held in Tianjin.
A number of important issues were discussed during the event, such as expanding transport links, developing logistics corridors, reducing transport barriers and introducing digital technologies.
In his speech, Absattar Syrgabaev noted that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project is being implemented, which is a priority for the country.
"This project is the result of political will and joint efforts of the leaders of the three countries. Currently, construction work is being carried out in difficult mountain conditions, especially in the Fergana tunnel," the minister said.
In addition, the head of the department also touched upon issues of strengthening cooperation.
During the meeting, a memorandum of understanding on the development of road service facilities between the transport departments of the SCO member states was signed.
