Iran’s religious authorities have outlined conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, said the maritime route would not be reopened to shipping as long as US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remain in power, The Caspian Post reports, citing Gazeta.ru.

“Our warriors will not open the Strait of Hormuz until the criminal Trump and bloodthirsty Netanyahu are overthrown from the seat of power,” Zolghadr said.

The adviser added that the closure of the strait was only “the first stage of the Iranian people’s revenge.”
