On December 2, the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Georgia held another round of consular consultations in Tbilisi.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department, while Giorgi Tabatadze, Director of the Consular Department, represented Georgia, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The consultations focused on the current state and future potential of consular cooperation between the two countries, with discussions on the signing of bilateral agreements in this area. Both sides exchanged views on protecting the rights and freedoms of their citizens and providing consular support to address ongoing challenges, agreeing to enhance collaboration to overcome difficulties.
The parties also explored opportunities for cooperation in areas such as justice, migration, education, humanitarian aid, social protection, and more. Emphasizing the importance of joint efforts, they highlighted the potential to strengthen bilateral ties in these sectors.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a protocol by the heads of both delegations.
