Parviz Shahbazov, Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister, held a meeting on Monday with Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Foreign and Trade Minister, during the 10th Ministerial Meeting in Budapest, where discussions focused on the development and transmission of green energy.
During the meeting, the discussions focused on the issues arising from the implementation of the Caspian-Black Sea-European Green Energy Corridor project and the priorities of bilateral energy cooperation, The Caspian Post reports citing Azertac.
The meeting highlighted the important role of Azerbaijan and the Southern Gas Corridor in ensuring the energy security of Europe in the conditions of modern realities related to energy supply. The sides also assessed the prospects for gas supplies from Azerbaijan to European countries, noting the importance of developing gas resources and expanding infrastructure. Both parties stressed that the need to diversify energy supplies requires a rational approach to gas-related issues.
FM Péter Szijjártó was invited to take an active part in the discussions on natural gas and green energy at the next meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council to be held in April.
During the conversation, the sides also exchanged views on the implemented and planned projects with Hungarian companies - MOL Group and MVM.
