Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan stated during a press conference on Tuesday that no military exercises with Iran are planned.

He recalled, however, that joint military exercises were held with Iran last year, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.

“We are in our territory, and Iran is in its. At the moment, there are no restrictions, but there are no planned military exercises either,” Papikyan added.

And responding to a question about Armenia’s relations with its allies, the defense minister noted: “Our relations are open and transparent. However, in military terms, we pin hopes on ourselves, on our economy and army.”
