Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun has said that China expressed deep condolences over the deaths of students in a recent attack on an Iranian elementary school, extending sympathies to the families.

The Red Cross Society of China will provide $200,000 in emergency humanitarian aid to the Iranian Red Crescent Society to assist victims, The Caspian Post reports via Chinese media.

Guo condemned all indiscriminate attacks on civilians and non-military targets, emphasizing that targeting schools and children violates international humanitarian law and moral principles.

China is willing to continue offering necessary support to Iran in the spirit of humanitarianism to help the Iranian people overcome these difficulties,” he added.
