Iranian Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour said that the injuries suffered by Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei did not leave him “disfigured.”
Kermanpour said that, despite rumors circulating in Western media, Khamenei did not lose any limbs and was not left disabled, The Caspian Post reports, citing IRNA.
Mazaher Hosseini, head of protocol at the Iranian leader’s office, stated that Khamenei is currently recovering from injuries to his back and knees, as well as a cut behind his ear.
Iran’s Supreme Leader was reportedly wounded in March this year during a joint US-Israeli bombing operation.
