Iran’s intelligence forces have seized a 14-tonne shipment of concealed cold weapons and items described as usable in riots in the northwestern province of West Azerbaijan Province.
The smuggled consignment was intercepted at Iran’s northwestern border and included high-voltage electroshock devices, concealable batons, daggers, knives and laser sights, The Caspian Post reports, citing Xinhua.
Fars said some of the weapons had been disguised as everyday objects, including flashlights, remote controls and cosmetic items, in an apparent attempt to evade detection.
A foreign national was arrested during the operation in Iran.
