Iran plans to continue negotiations with the European "trio"-France, Germany, and the UK-on lifting sanctions, though no specific date has been determined, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaee.
“The process will continue, but no specific date for resumption has been set,” Baghaee stated, The Caspian Post reports, citing Iranian media.
On November 9, Iranian Deputy Foreign Ministers Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Kazem Gharibabadi met representatives of the three European countries in Geneva to discuss bilateral relations and the Iranian nuclear program. Before the Geneva meeting, Takht-Ravanchi visited Oslo to hold discussions aimed at "laying the groundwork for future bilateral talks with the United States," as reported by Farhikhtegan newspaper.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), signed in 2015 by Iran and six major powers, aimed to resolve the crisis over Iran’s nuclear program. The U.S. withdrew from the agreement in 2018 under President Donald Trump, re-imposing sanctions on Iran. Efforts to restore the JCPOA resumed in 2021 but stalled in 2022 without a resolution.
