The agency stated that 34 protesters and eight security force members were killed, with dozens injured and 2,217 individuals detained across all 31 provinces of the country.

Demonstrations have occurred in major cities including Tehran, Mashhad, and Shiraz, as well as in areas with significant ethnic populations, such as the predominantly Turkish-majority provinces of Tabriz and Ardabil. Authorities have reportedly cut internet and phone services, and injuries have been attributed to pellet shots and plastic bullets.

US President Donald Trump issued a warning to Iran on Thursday, stating, "If they start killing people... we're going to hit them very hard." This statement underscores the heightened geopolitical tensions surrounding Iran's internal unrest, though it represents a unilateral threat rather than a coordinated international diplomatic response.

The situation in Iran highlights the volatility fueled by economic mismanagement and internal repression.
