Iran Purchases Russian Su-35 Fighter Jets

Iran has purchased Russian Su-35 fighter jets, Deputy Chief of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) General Ali Shadmani said on Monday.

"The Su-35 fighters have been purchased…Any time that we have the need, we will purchase military equipment for strengthening our Air Force, Army and Navy," the Iranian general noted, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.

He did not specify the number of fighter jets purchased from Russia.

The Iranian armed forces have also successfully tested new air defense systems deployed instead of the air defenses damaged during Israel’s strike on October 26, 2024, Shadmani said.
