Iran removed approximately 9 million barrels of crude oil from floating storage facilities in the Gulf of Oman after the US naval blockade took effect on April 13.

This was reported by the analytics company TankerTrackers, The Caspian Post reports.

According to the service, approximately 2 million additional barrels were loaded on April 12, shortly before the restrictions were imposed.

The movement of the oil may have been linked to efforts to accelerate export shipments amid tighter controls on maritime routes.
