Iran has called on countries in the Persian Gulf to disclose locations where American and Israeli military personnel are taking shelter, saying the move would help avoid civilian casualties during potential strikes.
Spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces Abolfazl Shekarchi said Tehran wants regional governments to indicate sites on their territory where members of the US and Israeli militaries may be hiding, The Caspian Post reports via Iranian media.
Shekarchi claimed that identifying such locations would allow Iran to conduct more precise strikes and avoid harming local populations.
“I ask the Muslim people of the region and the countries of the region to show us the places where American and Zionist forces are sheltering so that the people of those countries are not harmed, and we can more accurately strike those who use the region’s population as a human shield,” he said.
