Iranian Leader Sends Warm Independence Day Message to Tajik Counterpart

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has sent a congratulatory message to Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of the country’s 34th Independence Day.

President Pezeshkian underscored the enduring fraternal, cultural, and historical bonds between the peoples of the two nations, describing them as a strong foundation for broadening cooperation across multiple sectors, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

“I am confident that, with the will of both sides, friendly relations will continue developing and deepening. We will witness the expansion of bilateral ties for the benefit of both countries,” the message says.

President Pezeshkian also extended his best wishes for continued development and prosperity to the people of Tajikistan.

Earlier, on September 1, Presidents Rahmon and Pezeshkian met on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Tianjin, China. During the meeting, the leaders welcomed the abolition of the visa regime between the two countries, noting its positive impact on tourism, trade, transportation, culture, and healthcare. They also discussed further strengthening economic and trade cooperation, as well as collaboration in energy, international transport, science and innovation, agriculture, healthcare, and other mutually beneficial areas.
