Tajikistan to Celebrate 34th Independence Day with Main Event in Kulob

This year, Tajikistan’s 34th Independence Day will be marked with a main ceremonial event in Kulob, attended by President Emomali Rahmon.

In addition, cultural and entertainment programs are planned across various regions and districts of Dushanbe, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

Officials at the Kulob city administration confirmed that the main celebration will be held in the city with the participation of the president. Preparations for President Rahmon’s visit are already underway, although the exact date of his arrival has not been announced yet.

In Dushanbe, the central Independence Day ceremony is scheduled for September 9 at 19:00 (GMT+5) at Istiklol Square. The program will feature a theatrical performance with appearances by prominent singers and artists.

From September 5 to 8, cultural events will be held across others districts of Dushanbe.

During these events, residents and visitors of the capital will have the opportunity to participate in public festivities and cultural celebrations.

Mass gatherings, concerts, and cultural programs are also planned in other cities and districts across Tajikistan.

Citizens working a five-day week will enjoy three consecutive days off - September 7, 8, and 9 - in observance of the holiday.

Tajikistan celebrates Independence Day annually on September 9, with this year marking the 34th anniversary of the country’s independence.
