The Navy of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has released a statement cautioning vessels against passing through the Strait of Hormuz using any routes that have not been authorised by the force, stating that such actions will trigger a “decisive response.”

According to the statement, all vessels intending to transit the strait have been instructed that the only safe passage is the corridor previously designated by Iran, The Caspian Post reports, citing Al Jazeera.

The IRGC emphasised that any deviation from this specified route would be considered unsafe.

“We warn all vessels that intend to transit the strait, the only safe route… is the corridor previously announced by Iran,” the statement said. It further added that ships choosing alternative routes would face consequences, noting, “The diversion of vessels to other routes is unsafe and will face a decisive response from the IRGC Navy.”
