Radar Data Reveals Iranian Missiles Struck Five Israeli Military Sites in Recent Conflict

New radar analysis reveals that Iranian missiles directly hit five Israeli military facilities during the recent 12-day conflict.

Despite the severity of these strikes, Israeli officials have neither publicly acknowledged the attacks nor reported them domestically, citing strict military censorship, The Caspian Post reports, citing foreign media.

This revelation is expected to further escalate the propaganda battle, as both Israel and Iran continue to claim absolute victory in the hostilities.

The data was provided by US researchers from Oregon State University, experts in satellite radar imagery used to detect bomb damage in conflict zones. Their findings indicate that six Iranian missiles targeted five previously unreported military locations across northern, central, and southern Israel, including a major air base, an intelligence-gathering center, and a logistics hub.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declined to comment on missile interception rates or damage levels, stating only that “all relevant units maintained functional continuity throughout the operation,” according to an IDF spokesperson.

These strikes on military installations add to 36 other missile penetrations that successfully bypassed Israeli air defenses, causing significant damage to residential and industrial areas.

Despite widespread destruction, the death toll remained at 28 Israelis, highlighting the effectiveness of Israel’s advanced alert systems and disciplined use of bomb shelters and safe rooms by civilians.

The analysis shows that while most Iranian missiles were intercepted, the percentage that breached defenses steadily increased over the first eight days. Experts attribute this trend to a combination of Israel rationing interceptor missiles, improved Iranian firing tactics, and the possible deployment of more advanced missile technology by Iran.

Israel’s Iron Dome system, famous worldwide, primarily defends against short-range threats like mortars and is only one layer in the country’s multilayered air defense network. The David’s Sling system protects against drones and medium-range missiles up to 300 km, while the Arrow system intercepts long-range ballistic missiles before atmospheric re-entry.

Throughout the conflict, these Israeli defenses were supplemented by two US ground-based THAAD missile defense systems and ship-based interceptors launched from US naval forces stationed in the Red Sea. The US reportedly fired at least 36 THAAD interceptors during the clashes, each costing around $12 million.
